Kwintessens #97
Kwintessens was the quarterly Flemish magazine about design and fashion from 1992 to 2016, published by Design Vlaanderen in collaboration with Flanders Fashion Institute. Each issue was dedicated to a different theme and designed by a different designer. For the last edition, Annelys de Vet was invited as designer and editor, and she plead for new design practices where designers play an important role in society. In addition to essays by De Vet, Kurt Vanbelleghem, Pascal Gielen and Heini Lehtinen, the journal contained a portfolio of 27 Belgium design-projects deriving from critical citizenship and a conscious attitude to politics, society and environment.
